My desire to make a difference in the lives of children brought me to Chicago Public Schools as a teacher in 1991. Since 2003, I have been a school librarian, and ultimately a certified librarian with a Master's in Library Science.

I strive to challenge myself by extending the resources of the library/media center into the progressive classroom of the twenty-first century. I endeavor to integrate all of the resources of the library/media center into the entire school environment.

I believe the library/media center is the heartbeat of the school where interactive learning is encouraged and stimulated. I believe the library/media specialist is the coordinator between books and learners, both students and staff. The librarian's joy is to plant the seeds for a love of reading. In addition, other media resources further advance the educational experience in the library/media center.

My progressive style of librarianship balances the latest trends with traditional lessons in research and library skills. Years of experience in both classroom teaching as well as in the library have afforded me the skills to meet the needs of the progressive school. I enjoy the challenge of developing and organizing the resources of a library/media center to best meet the inquisitive and intellectual needs of students. I have computer experience using both MAC and PC formats, as well as experience using a variety of media forms. As a former classroom teacher, I understand the benefit of an organized and efficient librarian in a successful learning environment.
